Reading from 3/2/10

Pages Read: 331-352

Pages left: 106

Chapter Read: The first part of a Journey “Through the Dark”

Books Read: The Hobbit

The Fellowship of the Ring

The Two Towers

The Return of the King

Favorite Quote: ‘Fool of a Took!’ he growled. ‘This is a serious journey, not a hobbit walking party! Throw yourself in next time, and then you will be no further nuisance. Now be quiet!’

Why I like it: This is another quote that made me laugh. I remembered this part in the movie and I was hoping it was in the books! At the same time though I feel bad for Pippin… always getting yelled at and what not. Though I will admit, I use the ‘Fool of a Took’ term instead of idiot sometimes. ;]

Elvish:

I looked at the second lesson while reviewing my first again. The second lesson involved what letters became what when a word becomes plural. The wonderful teacher at www.councilofelrond.com said that this lesson does not need to be memorized. Just look at the chart they provide and I’ll get the hang of it eventually. ;] If you want to see the chart, the big version was here: http://www.councilofelrond.com/languages/123MC.htm I don’t know if it’ll come up if you aren’t a member of the site, because I know you have to login to see the workbook pages.

Like I said, the only other thing I did was look up elvish words and said them so I knew I had the pronunciation down. I actually went to the Sindarian Name Finder and typed in my name… well, I spelled it Carly instead of Carleigh, but it’s the same basic thing. My name in Sindarian is Sandirith. :]

I liked it. Go to councilofelrond and check it out yourselves! It’s pretty cool.

Well then, until next time,

Carleigh
